The West Midlands has three amazing Karting Circuits, all with excellent facilities and friendly staff. There has never been a better time to take up Karting in the West Midlands!
[ClickPress, Thu Mar 08 2007] Sam Wallis, 14, from Coventry, found himself on a dangerous downward spiral a couple of years ago. He was hanging around the streets near his home, getting into trouble for petty crimes and anti-social behaviour.
Now, thanks to him discovering Karting, his life has totally changed around. Sam started going Karting in the West Midlands after his worried Father decided to find him something to occupy his spare time, other than hanging round the streets.
“I could see that the problem was he was bored. He had nothing to do with his spare time, so I decided to take matters into my own hands,” said Colin Wallis, aged 46.
Colin contacted Karting Guide after driving past the Karting Circuit in Coventry and seeing a group of kids about Sam’s age taking part in a practice session. He already knew that his son had an interest in motor sport and thought that it might just be the ideal activity to get his boy off the streets.
“Dad told me that he’d booked me in for a practice session at the local karting circuit,” recalls Sam.
“I didn’t know what to expect to be honest, but I went down there anyway. I totally enjoyed it and was hooked from the first minute. The speed, the control, the excitement – it’s all there!”
With three superb Karting Circuits in the West Midlands, the sport is becoming increasingly popular, as more worried parents seek out a recreational activity for their children. The facilities at the sites are superb and newcomers are always welcome. Full safety briefings are provided by experienced circuit staff and all equipment, like helmets, gloves and race suits are issued at the circuit.
It’s not only teenagers discovering the delights of Karting, Stag and Hen parties are also choosing this unique motor sport as a day time activity, before hitting the bars and clubs of Birmingham or Coventry.
Local businesses are also using the West Midlands circuits as a teambuilding tool. Groups are taking part in fun sessions on the Karts before holding staff meetings and brainstorming events in the conference facilities at the circuit.
Colin Wallis is glad that he contacted Karting Nation and got his son involved. Sam Wallis is now a regular at the West Midland sites, Karting both for fun and as a member of Birmingham’s team.
“It’s changed my life, to be honest. I’m always at one of the circuits, either racing or watching. I’ve met some new friends on the Karting team, so thankfully my days of hanging round the streets are over.”
