The City of Indianapolis and Marion County Select MethodFactory for SharePoint Portal Implementation

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 to replace the City-County Intranet

With over 60 departments, 5,000 employees and three terabytes of shared files the organization needed a robust and scalable knowledge management/portal solution. “During the analysis phase of this project MethodFactory determined that Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal solution satisfies the organizations current and future needs”, said James Williamson, a partner with MethodFactory. “We’re excited that Indianapolis and Marion County chose to use MethodFactory’s portal planning process.”

SharePoint Server 2007 is Microsoft’s Intranet & Portal offering. The server offering, released in January, includes content management, search, business forms management, business intelligence and collaboration tools within the Portal solution. Government examples of SharePoint include the City of Houston, the City of Wichita, the FAA and the US Army.
