Caravan insurance to guarantee you'll be towed away!
Adrian Flux has launched an insurance policy that offers a week's free insurance on new caravans. The cover can be arranged instantly while the customer is still at the dealers so the caravan can be towed away as soon as the sale is completed.
[ClickPress, Tue Mar 27 2007] Adrian Flux Insurance Services, one of the leading suppliers of specialist caravan insurance, has launched an innovative policy that offers a week's free, instantly arranged comprehensive insurance on new caravans while the customer is still on the dealer's premises. Called 'Tow-Away' the new scheme allows the buyer to complete the sale, hitch up the vehicle and tow it away without having to worry about arranging the best-value policy beforehand.
For the caravan dealer it means not worrying about a sale failing because the insurance isn’t sorted. Furthermore, it means the buyer isn't pressured into choosing an insurer favoured by the dealer. There's a full week to go home and find the policy to suit their purpose and pocket.
Flux’s Tow-Away policy gives the caravan fully comprehensive cover for seven days. Once a dealer is registered for the scheme, their customers can simply log on to the Flux Tow-Away website ( www.7dayinsurance.co.uk) and fill in their details. Cover is issued immediately and automatically, 24 hours a day and seven day a week.
The cover is free: neither the caravan buyer nor the dealer has to pay for it. Nor is there any obligation to take out a policy with Flux at the end of the seven days – although the company says that most caravanners are so impressed with the terms and price of renewal that they decide to take out a full year's policy with Flux at the end of the week.
Flux says that there are some restrictions. Firstly, the maximum value of caravan covered is £20,000 and the new owners must have had a full licence for 12 months, with no more than two minor motoring convictions in the past five years (codes CU, MW, PC, SP or TS only). They can’t have been banned or under suspension from driving during the past five years. In addition, they must not have made more than one fault or theft insurance claim in the past three years.
For the vast majority of caravan drivers, none of these restrictions should be an issue.
“Getting insurance sorted when you’re buying a caravan can be a frustrating business,” says Julie Carter of Flux, who is overseeing the scheme. “Especially if you complete the purchase, and only then have to wait days for your cover to come through. Tow-Away neatly removes one level of pressure from the caravan buying process."
