Punctuation Man will spotlight premiere of Punctuation Playtime, a new instructional video for elementary school teachers that makes learning punctuation fun for children in grades 1-6

[ClickPress, Tue Apr 03 2007] Punctuation Man will be on hand to cheer the debut of Punctuation Playtime at the National School Boards Association (NSBA) Annual Conference and Exposition (Booth #1528) at Moscone Center in San Francisco, April 14-16.

Punctuation Playtime is an exciting new instructional video that shows elementary school teachers how to make learning punctuation fun for children in grades 1-6. The video includes a wide variety of interactive learning games and activities.

Punctuation Playtime was created by Jeff Rubin, a 36-year veteran newspaper reporter, columnist, editor, and newsletter publisher. Rubin is the founder of National Punctuation Day (September 24), which is recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events and featured in the McGraw-Hill publication, The Teacher’s Calendar.

“Punctuation is part of standardized testing for students through high school,” says Rubin. “Children must know how to punctuate properly to read well, write well, and succeed in school and in their careers.”

Developed from Rubin’s live performances (with his wife, Norma) throughout northern California’s East Bay schools that generate rave reviews as well as newspaper headlines, the Punctuation Playtime instructional DVD shows teachers how to present Rubin’s proven punctuation-learning techniques and fun activities. A companion CD includes activity kits for teachers and kids, words and music for the “Punctuation Rap,” and more.

“Punctuation Playtime is an innovative program for teaching punctuation,” says Rubin. “The video takes a subject that children might roll their eyes at and transforms it into an engaging and enjoyable learning experience. The kids love it, and so do the teachers.”

NSBA attendees who visit Booth #1528 can pick up a free gift and learn more about Punctuation Playtime by viewing the five-minute Punctuation Playtime demo video, which is also available online. Plus, attendees can take advantage of special NSBA-conference pricing for the Punctuation Playtime instructional DVD/CD package, as well as participate in the adult version of the Punctuation Relay in a playful pursuit of Punctuation Playtime prizes!
