Charleston Named One of Travelocity’s ‘10 Delicious Destinations in 2007’

[ClickPress, Thu Apr 12 2007] Charleston, South Carolina has been named one of the world’s “10 Delicious Destinations for Foodies in 2007” by Travelocity (www.travelocity.com).

The popular travel Web site said “local produce” and “the waters that surround South Carolina’s Lowcountry inspire local cooks more often than not.”

Travelocity said the list of destinations in South Carolina was based on input from travel experts who both monitored industry trends and used their personal experience.

The list also included Barcelona, Boulder, Las Vegas, London, Montreal, New Orleans, New York City, Rome and San Francisco.

Frogmore stew, she-crab soup, grits, hoppin’ John and rice dishes were cited as Charleston specialties. For more information about dining opportunities in Charleston and around South Carolina, visit www.SavorSouthCarolina.com or DiscoverSouthCarolina.com.
