Tunstall’s Telecare Training Tool Endorsed by College of Occupational Therapists

Unique online learning resource is first of its kind to gain endorsement of British professional body for occupational therapy staff

[ClickPress, Tue Apr 17 2007] Tunstall, the leading provider of telecare and telehealth solutions, has had its interactive learning resource, the Telecare Training Tool (TTT), endorsed by the College of Occupational Therapists (COT). The TTT is the first such opportunity to receive endorsement from the COT.

Tunstall’s web-based TTT helps health and social care staff to further develop their practical knowledge and understanding of the benefits of telecare. It uses virtualised real-life scenarios to guide learners through a comprehensive range of telecare assessments and options.

The TTT is available to occupational therapists and other staff with responsibility for assessing or referring patients for telecare services. It already has over 360 registered users, with many more expected in the coming months.

The COT is looking to further develop the Telecare Training Tool with Tunstall as part of its ongoing continuous professional development and lifelong learning support for OTs and support staff.

As an online, interactive resource, the TTT enables learners to progress at their own pace, fitting use of it around their schedules to suit needs and knowledge levels. Users’ answers are tested and scored, helping to build experience and confidence in identifying clients’ needs and devising appropriate telecare recommendations.
