CARTES 2007 Show Features ID Tech and Mobile Transactions
This year’s edition of CARTES & IDentification, the world's leading trade show on digital security, smart cards, and identification, will highlight advances in identification technology and mobile transactions. The show will take place from Nov. 13 to 15 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris and feature Japan as the show’s guest of honor.
[ClickPress, Fri Apr 20 2007] After last year's success, the 2007 edition of CARTES is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors, 1,700 congress participants, and 480 exhibitors. Recognized worldwide as the reference venue for digital security and smart card technologies, CARTES is a must-see event for the whole industry. This November, smart card and identification specialists from around the world will be meeting once again in Paris to help drive progress and excellence.
This year's highlights:
The IDentification show
As in the past, CARTES 2007 will be giving lots of exposure to the particularly dynamic identification sector. This specialization gets its own specific space. The "IDentification" show, dedicated to secure technologies and biometrics, will take place at the same time as CARTES, benefiting from synergies between the audiences of the two events. It will attract players proposing technologies and solutions relating to biometrics, document security, authentication, physical or logical access control, cryptography, RFID, and e-government.
The exhibitors will be demonstrating solutions that are making the headlines as they address today's security needs. A visit to IDentification is essential to get up-to-date on the latest developments of these technologies.
This year's guest of honor: Japan
This year will have a special focus on Asia, with Japan as guest of honor. A veritable breeding ground for new technologies and a market highly receptive to even the most avant-garde innovations, Japan provides the backdrop for a never-ending stream of exciting experiments. The Japanese public can already enjoy the benefits of contactless devices, next-generation telephony, mobile payment systems, multi-applications and biometrics. Japan will be making its presence felt at this year's show through its participation in the congress, special events in the exhibition halls, and the presence of important decision-makers.
"Mobile Transaction TechZone" village: security and mobile transactions
Mobile transactions, made possible by progress in contactless and multi-application technologies, are driving new applications and opening new perspectives for industry players. These technologies will naturally be in the spotlight at CARTES & IDentification 2007, in a dedicated space: "NFC • RFID • M2M • Transaction Security • Kiosk Technologies"
CARTES & IDentification 2007 is also:
The Congress: concentrated expertise
The three-day Congress is an unrivalled source of information and know-how, featuring many presentations of international experience and innovations. All the subjects relate to smart cards or identification, providing a broad and accurate view of the market. It provides an indispensable complement to a visit to the stands. The conferences present today's most innovative projects and serve as a platform for interchange and contact between more than 1,700 participants and speakers.
World Card Summit: Hear the captains of industry
The opening World Card Summit conference will welcome an exceptional lineup of keynote speakers sharing their points of view and their visions of the market.
Sesames Awards: a guarantee of success
Highly coveted by the smart card and identification industries, the Sesames Awards testify the recognition of the international profession. This competition is open to all companies in relevant sectors, whether they be CARTES & IDentification exhibitors or not. An exceptional tool for innovative project promotion, the Awards make several years of R&D effort concrete. Decided by a jury of experts, the Awards will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in Paris on Nov. 12 (venue not yet determined).
