Glitnir Bank Launches Norwegian Marketing Campaign

Glitnir Bank launches a major marketing offensive in a bid to raise its brand profile in Norway and attract customers from key market sectors.

[ClickPress, Fri May 04 2007] Nordic bank Glitnir today revealed its plans to increase business and brand awareness in Norway through a series of adverts to appear in financial, regional and airline publications.

“We are Glitnir, we are different”, rings Glitnir’s slogan, a deliberate attempt to drive home the message that Glitnir is not like the other Norwegian banks. The Nordic bank, which now classes Iceland and Norway as its two home markets, is promoting itself as a fast, easy-to-work-with bank that offers expertise in key industry sectors. Through teams of specialist bankers, Glitnir is focusing on building business in niche areas such as seafood, offshore supply vessels, shipbuilding and renewable energy – areas that make up a sizeable proportion of the Norwegian market.

Glitnir’s adverts are to be printed in Sunnmorsposten, the regional newspaper for the main target area of Aalesund, one of the most important fishing and shipping harbours in West Norway. They will also appear in a number of on and offline business publications such as DN and Finansavisen, as well as in SAS Braathens’ inflight magazine.

In addition Glitnir will be the main sponsor of the Oslo marathon in September 2007 and has sponsored the Norwegian TV channel, TV2. Glitnir also hopes the recent coverage of the success of the Icelandic economy will have a positive effect on its Norwegian campaign.
