About the French Music Export Office
The French Music Export Office is a non-profit organization that was created in 1993 through the initiative of French record labels, and with the help of both public entities and private professionals from the record industry and the live-music scene. Its goal is to collectively help French music professionals to better develop the presence of their artists and productions outside France, and thus support French record sales outside France as well.
In freeing up the necessary synergies between the various partners and operators within France and without, the French Music Export Office facilitates contacts between French and international professionals. It also co-ordinates the French presence at international music fairs and organizes professional encounters in France and outside the country. Finally, the French Music Export Office offers various financial-support programmes to French record companies, notably through its export and promotion commissions.
With the backing of France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Music Export Office has created a network comprising nine Offices and Correspondents worldwide. The French Music Export Office has offices in Germany (the Berlin office covers the markets of German-speaking countries, the Netherlands, as well as Central & Eastern Europe); in the UK (London); in Spain (the Barcelona office covers the Spanish and Portuguese markets); in the United States (New York); and in Japan (Tokyo).
