MUSIC FINALISTS & PANELISTS ANNOUNCED: NOTEWORTHY PARTICIPANTS HIT WIDE RANGE OF GEOGRAPHIC POINTS, EXPERIENCE AND GENRES AT THE 11TH ANNUAL TEMECULA VALLEY INTERNATIONAL FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Temecula, CA --- Indie Music Artists from two major music markets coasts – Los Angeles and New York. Two local Rock bands from Murrieta. Two separate Pop artists from different parts of Canada. There are even two Brandons. Two is a magic number as this year’s 11th annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF) slated for September 14-22,2005 at the Movie Experience 10 at Tower Plaza (E. I-15 @Ynez Road & Rancho California Rd. ) officially expands its Music Fest to TWO FULL DAYS, Friday, September 16th, 2005 from 7-11 p.m. and Saturday, September 17th, 2005 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Music finalists will be put on a Compilation CD produced by Heyday Records www.heyday.com touted by Rolling Stone Magazine as "One of the ten most adventurous small labels in the world". President of Heyday, Robert Rankin Walker, former singer/guitarist for San Francisco bay area popsters "Caffeine", says he runs the label from the artists point of view. He doesn't believe in exclusive contracts and says the bands should have say in all areas from the artwork to promotion.

This year’s Music Critique Panelists include an impressive roster of music industry professionals. Heading that list is this year’s
TVIFF Lifetime Achievement Honoree and three-time Grammy nominee, Composer, Steve Dorff who has been honored with more than forty BMI and eleven Billboard #1 awards, in addition to winning the NSAI Songwriter of the Year Award. His roster of #1 songs for major motion pictures, television and theatre, includes Kenny Rogers’ classic “Through The Years” and Anne Murray’s Billboard #1 “I Just Fall In Love Again.” His numerous hits have been sung by Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, George Strait, Vanessa
Williams and countless others, with TV/Cable credits including TIN CUP, MICHAEL, THE QUICK AND THE DEAD, BRONCO BILLY AND ROCKY IV. He is an Emmy Nominee for five television compositions, his credits are exemplary and include such stalwarts as "Murphy Brown" and "Murder She Wrote". You'll also find his name on evergreens like "Growing Pains", 'Alien Nation", "Spenser for Hire", "Major Dad", "Columbo", and last year's break-out hit "Reba.”

“Steve Dorff is a fantastic addition to our panel this year – not only because he’s receiving his TVIFF Lifetime Achievement Award, but he adds such value to the panel. It’s significant - I have been telling these musicians about what the MusicFest affords them, the real key is exposure and opportunities for possible film, television or commercial work,” states Jo Moulton, Festival Director.

Joining Dorff on the panel is Art Ford whose eight-year BMG Music Publishing film and television music marketing career as Vice President of his division drove him to take his pioneering efforts of creating the first music showcase for Sundance Film Festival, which was a VH-1 televised special to being brought in as the Music Supervisor for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT. In addition to executing an industry first with BMG becoming the first exclusive sponsor of the Clio Awards to heading up his own company in January 2001, June St. Entertainment to license music in AUSTIN POWERS, COLLATERAL, BARBERSHOP 2, CHARLIE’S ANGELS, THE BOURNE IDENTITY and TV’S DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, THE OSBOURNES, THE SHIELD and many others.

Bernard Baur is an artist crusader and award-winning journalist with over 1200 published articles to his credit including almost 600 of them in Music Connection Magazine where he is the Review Editor, A&R Reporter and Feature Writer. With over twenty years in the biz, he has worked with national acts and emerging artists as a former attorney, director of marketing and promotions and A&R executive. Baur currently produces Music Connection’s Best Kept Secrets, a showcase series that connects artists with industry. He also sits on the Board of Directors as an Expert Advisor for: Circle of Songs, Songs Alive! and Los Angeles Music Productions. As an independent consultant he works with Major Entertainment Firms, Record Labels, Production Companies, and Minarik Guitars. He is also a frequent industry music judge for events sponsored by (radio stations) KROQ, KLOS, INDIE 103 and Budweiser.

Accomplished Author, Journalist, Interviewer and Educator, John Braheny sits in a lot of musical chairs. From educator in demand to conduct songwriting/music business seminars for colleges, universities a and organizations throughout the US and Canada - teaching songwriting and music industry classes at UCLA, Grove School of Music and the Trebas Institute to best-selling author of “The Craft and Business of Songwriting” (touted as 'a veritable songwriters bible' by the National Academy of Songwriters) Braheny keeps busy. He’s also Co-Founder and Director of the Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase, the organization that provided exposure and showcased
songwriting talents of many new writer/artists including such successful artists as Stevie Nicks, Warren Zevon, Janis Ian, Stephen Bishop,
and one of the world's most prolific and successful contemporary songwriter, Diane Warren.

Personally developing the careers of more than 1,800 artists, to date, working the last 20 years, helping several major and independent labels Tim Sweeney is a highly sought after expert and consultant in the fields of artist development, label development, distribution, publicity, radio promotion, Internet marketing and retail marketing. From President of his own successful management company to becoming the author of an international best selling book, Tim Sweeney's Guide to Releasing Independent Records, it’s no
wonder Sweeney is sought after to be a featured keynote speaker at music conventions such as SXSW, The Songwriters Expo, NARAS, Grammys in the Schools,The Los Angeles Book Festival, Borders Books and Music. He’s received numerous awards for his work with aspiring artists including the Hardest Working Man in the Industry award from the Musician's Trade Journal, and the Best Music Publicist in Los Angeles (LAMA).

Bruce Singer should receive an award for holding the most titles. As a long-time supporter of TVIFF from its grassroots beginnings as an accomplished, multiple award-winning owner/publisher and editor of Entertainment Roundup, Singer (ironically named, but not one) has been singing the praises of the festival for years, but sits on this panel as an accomplished entertainment expert. Singer’s impressive roster of experience includes Producer/Director, Temecula Valley Talent Showcase, Board of Trustees, Arts Council of Temecula Valley Board of Directors, Inland Theatre League for Riverside and San Bernardino counties, Former Member Board of
Directors, Temecula City Ballet, Murrieta Repertory Theatre, Temecula Valley Historical Society, Area Four / Inland Theatre League. His numerous judging credits include: Inland Theatre League for Riverside and San Bernardino counties, South Bay Music Festival; Murrieta Valley Battle of the Bands, San Diego County Fair Talent Competition; Search for the Stars Talent Competition, Paloma Valley High School Talent Competition; Star Awards Talent Competition, Multi-Cultural Talent Competition and many others.

The Two-Day Music Fest features a very talented lucky dozen of music finalists covering the full-spectrum of music genres: Country, Rock, Pop, Alternative, Latin Alternative, R&B, Acoustic, Jazz and Adult Contemporary. This year’s festival also features: an Opening Night film screening of Director, Producer, Writer Randall Miller’s “Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School” where Miller and star of the film Actress, Mary Steenburgen will be present. Steenburgen will be receiving the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for Performance.

Film showcases include presentations from The American Film Institute (AFI), Independent Feature Project (IFP), Toronto Int’l Film Festival Group, and sister festival, Rome Independent Film Festival (RIFF); showcases from Brazil, and a Young Filmmakers Showcase from Idyllwild Arts Academy and California Conservatory of the Arts, to add to the existing student film entries from USC, UCLA, San Francisco State University and Columbia. To further play up that TWO is a magic number, DisneyToons Studio will be presenting sequels never before-seen-on-the-big-screen: Lilo and Stitch 2:
Stitch has a Glitch; Lion King 1 ½; Three Musketeers and Pooh’s Heffalump Adventure. Highlights also include industry panels and workshops featuring: "Conversations with Actor, Dorian Harewood: From Broadway to Blackjack',” “How To Get A Movie Produced,” “Role of A Music Supervisor,” Discovering America’s Songbook, With Jim Jimirro, “Women Cinematographers,” and much more.

The annual Black Tie Awards Gala honors for Lifetime Achievement Awards go to Film Critic, Historian, Author and TV personality, Leonard Maltin. (Entertainment Tonight, Hot Ticket), Grammy Award nominee, Composer, Steve Dorff, Director, John Badham (“Saturday Night Fever,” “Short Circuit,” “My So-Called Life,” “War Games”). Outstanding Career Achievement Awards go to Actor, Rick Schroder (“The Champ,” “Little Lord Fauntelroy,” “Crimson Tide,” “Silver Spoons,” “NYPD Blue”), Producer, Lucas Foster (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith, ””Mask of Zorro,” “Walking Tall,” “Bad Boys,” “Dangerous Minds”) and for the first-time, AFI –American Film Institute will be receiving the festival’s inaugural Distinguished Institution Award for contributions to the industry.
