npower, a leading energy provider, will be showcasing the latest technological home developments to help homeowners better manage their energy and impact on the environment at the Ideal Home Show in March.

Some of the developments include electric vehicle technology, solar panels, and the star of the show a Tesla - the fastest electric vehicle in existence.

npower will be exhibiting home charging points for electric cars along with the Tesla to demonstrate how home technology is quickly adapting towards a more efficient, sustainable, solar economy. The npower stand will also feature a dedicated 'environment' section where visitors will be able to see a video demonstration of npower’s solar capabilities and find out how to make their homes more energy efficient for the future.

Nicola Hadcroft, creative services manager at npower commented: "The Ideal Home Show is the perfect location to showcase our new home technology such as the electric vehicle home charging point. It's one of many new products being introduced to the market that is soon to become a standard fixture in our homes and is designed to make our lives easier and more energy efficient. We're thrilled to be able to have the Tesla here to showcase how the home charging point will work. Alongside our residential solar offering and National Trust Green Energy Tariff, it will help demonstrate to visitors how energy is becoming more sustainable and can help residents become more independent and tread more lightly on the planet."

Npower's home charging points are just one of the initiatives being pioneered by the company to offer consumers alternative ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Other schemes such as npower's green energy tariff 'npower juice' and Feed-in-Tariffs for solar photovoltaic panels further incentivise consumers to consider alternative ways of cutting their energy bills and going green. Visitors will also be able to find out more about npower's National Trust Green Energy tariff, which helps support low-carbon initiatives at National Trust sites.
