Over two intoxicating days between 8th and 9th April 2011, Helsinki Beer Festival is going to be offering hundreds of the best beers from brewers all over the world. Attendees can sip glasses containing the most recognised brands internationally or search for subtle differences from microbrewery producers in an entire area dedicated to smaller companies in the Microbrewery Land.
The show features a diverse selection of beer varieties including pale ale, mild, wheat, stout and the world’s most commonly drunk form of beer, lager. Only water and tea are drunk in larger quantities around the world but attendees won’t find much of those here although there will be plenty of food stalls to accompany the drinks.
Over the course of the event drinkers can hear from many of the leading bands in Finland as well as see a few famous celebrity drinkers who will be entertaining audiences through the night. Judges will also be critiquing the beverages on display and commenting on things like texture and flavour and awards will be given out to the best of the show.
The festival is being held at the Cable Factory and visitors looking for accommodation within stumbling distance can find many Helsinki hotels nearby but the majority of places are set to be booked up with exhibitors and attendees.
