The marathon is in its tenth year and is likely to draw around 100,000 spectators into the Austrian city of Linz on the 8th, 9th and 10th April 2011. Around 14,000 people will participate in the marathon and will receive issue numbers and chips to record their running times on the 8th April.
Runners and spectators are likely to stay in hotels in Linz where they can get ample rest and are perfectly placed to enjoy the spring weather in the beautiful Austrian city.
The ASICS junior marathon will take place on Saturday 9th April and then the main event, the OMV marathon and additional events, including; Oberbank Half marathon; Intersport Eybl Quarter Marathon, OÖNachrichten relay marathon, and Handbike and InLINE SKATING Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 9th April.
Online registration is necessary to participate in this event; otherwise late registration is available in person on the 8th April 2011.
In addition to the sporting events, there is a rich supporting program which includes The Intersport Eybl Exhibition. This will be held on 8th and 9th in the Brucknerhaus, Untere Donaulaende. This is a fantastic opportunity for runners to meet each other and to buy equipment for the run. Retailers will sell sportswear, sports nutrition products and medical equipment, as well as showcase other forthcoming sports events.
