Jacksonville FOP Helps National FOP with Katrina Relief Effort
The committee is working with the presidents of the affected state lodges to establish a system to identify their member's needs.
[ClickPress, Fri Sep 02 2005] Jacksonville, Fl. -- The National FOP has activated the Disaster Relief Committee to render aid to our law enforcement brothers and sisters in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The committee is working with the presidents of the affected state lodges to establish a system to identify their member's needs. Nelson Cuba President of Jacksonville FOP Lodge 5-30 stated, "Here in Jacksonville we are doing what we can to help our brothers and sisters in need in those states. We have already committed to give $5000.00 thousand dollars above and beyond what we collect here locally from our members and citizens".
From past experience we have learned that the most important aid needed at this time is money. We are asking that anyone that can give and wishes to make a donation to the relief effort may come by the Jacksonville FOP (5530 Beach Blvd.), or if you wish to make a donation by Credit Card you may call the lodge at (904) 398-7010 Ext. 0. The funds collected locally will be sent to the National FOP.
If you would like to mail a check, checks should be mailed and made payable to the:
Jacksonville FOP Foundation
5530 Beach Blvd.
Jacksonville, Fl. 32207
The Jacksonville FOP Foundation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.
