No smoking - so get running for charity! British 10k London
Run the British 10K in London on 1st July and raise money for muscular dystrophy
[ClickPress, Wed Jun 06 2007] The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is looking for runners to take part in the British 10K London Run on Sunday 1st July and raise money to support its research and care services.
The race itself is a fast and flat 10K so, whether it’s your first time or you have a personal best to beat, it suits all abilities. July 1st marks the start of the smoking ban in England, so this is a great opportunity to begin your healthier lifestyle.
Starting in Piccadilly, the course takes you along some of London’s most famous streets including Pall Mall and Parliament Square, with the finish line in Whitehall. To keep you motivated and smiling as you puff and pant, DJ’s and live bands will be playing at many different landmarks throughout the race.
Sarah Parkinson, who ran the British 10K for the charity last year, said, “I loved every minute of the race, and knowing I was raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign gave me the extra encouragement I needed.”
Runners will need to raise at least £150 in sponsorship to take part. Teams of five runners or more, whether groups of friends or from companies, are also welcome.
Muscular dystrophy and related diseases are genetic conditions that cause muscles to deteriorate, affecting over 30,000 people in the UK. There is no cure.
