Award-winning Spear’s Wealth Management Survey to launch Europe’s first High-Net-Worth Awards

Spear’s Wealth Management Survey, the award-winning quarterly for High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Ultra High-Net-Worth (UHNW) individuals – is delighted to announce the launch of the Spear’s Wealth Management HNW Awards 2007 in recognition of the private individuals and the firms in the HNW sector in the UK and Europe that have made a positive and significant impact in the super-rich private client world over the past year.

[ClickPress, Tue Jun 12 2007] The awards, which will be held at Sotheby’s in London on July 10th 2007, are the first of their type in Europe honouring annual achievement for Ultra High-Net-Worth and High-Net-Worth individuals and the private client firms that provide services for them. The categories recognise, for the first time, the individuals and companies behind the Rich Lists; the gurus of wealth management; the secret players that make London the new Zurich of the world.

Editor William Cash, recently named as ‘Editor of the Year’ at the 2007 PPA Independent Publisher awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel says: ‘These awards will be the Oscars of the booming private client wealth management sector in London as well as recognising the achievements of family business, entrepreneurs and philanthropists from the HNW community. At a time when London has eclipsed New York as a global financial centre and both Zurich and Geneva as Europe’s premier wealth management capital, it is only fitting that London should host awards which recognise the unique talents of London’s financial services sector as well as the wealthy and enterprising HNW individuals whom they work for.’

The awards will reward excellence in all sectors relevant to High-Net-Worth Individuals, including private banking, best airline, prestige luxury brand of the year, green entrepreneur of the year, family offices, family business, philanthropy, charity, tax and trusts, legal private client, private equity and asset managers. The awards will also recognise enterprise and initiative from individual HNWs as well as excellence across the HNW luxury, travel and other consumer sectors.

Supported by Carte Blanche Communications and Scorpio Partnership, the leading specialist wealth management marketing and communications advisory and the award winning wealth management research consultancy, the nominees are selected by the readers, contributors and editors of Spear’s. Winners will be selected by two independent panels of judges and journalists and announced in the July/August edition of Spear’s. Nominees will be honoured and winners will be awarded at a gala event on July 10th 2007 at Sotheby's in London hosted by Lord Dalmeny, deputy chairman of Sotheby’s, and Ross Westgate, presenter of CNBC Europe’s World Exchange, the global daily business news programme with anchors in the US, Europe and Asia.

Spear’s is not available on news-stands; premium subscription is by invitation only. Distribution is direct to an exclusive database of HNW individuals in the UK and Europe, including members of the Rich Lists, key players in London’s investment banking, wealth management and financial sectors, sports personalities, entrepreneurs and family businesses. Spear’s is also distributed through an exclusive network of hotels, private clubs, and through BA, Virgin and other first class air cabins and lounges. The majority of readers hold over £2 million in assets, with most holding much more. Contributors include such highly respected writers as: economist Guy Monson, social critic Peter York, Country Life’s editor-at-large Clive Aslet, award-winning art critic Anthony Haden-Guest, Chairman of Channel 4 Luke Johnson, John Arlidge, Oscar Humphries, Nick Foulkes, and Martin Vander Weyer, business editor of the The Spectator.

Launched in 2005, the award-winning Spear’s has rapidly positioned itself as the most authoritative and most widely-read title for HNWs across Europe. The title has received wide acclaim from media across the world, including a major profile in Der Spiegel, features in The Times, Guardian, The Observer and in The Independent. What makes the title unique and compelling is that it is the first objective and independent title that provides quarterly Zagat-style surveys of leading private-client players in all sectors relevant to the HNW community, from asset managers to private client lawyers and art advisors.
