[ClickPress, Tue Jun 12 2007] Starting 13 June 2007, Emirates Auction will accept registration for the second and final Distinguished Number Plate Auction for this season, to be held on Saturday, 16 June 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Emirates Palace.
Abdullah Al Mannaei, the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Auction, the organizer of the Distinguished Number Plate Auction, has said that the auction is to be held under the support of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, with sponsorship from the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Emirates Palace. During the event, 52 distinguished numbers will be auctioned. The proceeds of the auction will be given in support of the Road Accidents Fund and projects for people of special needs.
Al Mannaei stressed that the first auction achieved unmatched success and wide media coverage from all over the region. During the first auction, he added, the most expensive number plate worldwide was sold. He is expecting the second auction, however, to attract a wider spectrum of bidders especially since the numbers promoted have historical and national implications and meanings.
Abdullah Al Mannaei has stated that three of the number plates from the first auction have been resold, giving their owners a good margin of profit of up to AED 1 million.
The number 786, Al Mannaei made clear, attracts a lot of bidders and achieved a very high price in one of the auctions since it is directly related to East Asia Islamic values.
Other numbers that will be presented during the second auction will include the single digit 7, famous for being the number on the Aston Martin driven by James Bond; the lucky number 777; the number 1000, from Bugati’s fastest car and many other distinguished numbers.
It is also worth mentioning that Emirates Auction will give souvenirs to the winners of the bids, in addition to permanent ownership certificates issued by Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
