A Night of Inspiration for Independent Film Makers that provides smiles for a lifetime.

The Emerging Film Makers Short Film Festival (EFSFF) brings an entertaining and educating weekend for independent film makers and short film enthusiasts to North Hollywood.

[ClickPress, Thu Jun 21 2007] No pre-sale is required; patrons pay admission each day they attend at the Sherry Theater from June 29th through July 1st. The three day event will also provide great benefit to the lives of children stricken with Cleft Lip and Palate, a major problem affecting millions of children in developing countries.

EFSFF, known for recognizing and highlighting up and coming talent, is bringing a host of comedic, dramatic and documentary short film makers to the public eye with this year’s festival. The weekend will inspire creative minds by offering screenings of this year’s selected short films. Attendees will be introduced to short film technique and awards will be given to writers and film makers who have proven that they can think outside of the box. The EFSFF opens the 2007 festival doors to a wealth of film making and creative opportunity.

The Sherry Theater in North Hollywood plays host to the EFSFF happenings. As home to the critically acclaimed theatrical “Devil’s Night” and its prequel “Valentine’s Night”, the Sherry Theater offers admission at a daily rate of $15 for the EFSFF scheduled gala. Events begin Friday evening, June 29th at 5 p.m. and run through 10 p.m. with a special screening event. Guest speakers and a launch party continue Friday’s festivities where guests will have a chance to shake hands and network with their peers alongside industry professionals and the festival’s featured talents. Saturday’s schedule runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and includes guest speakers and film screenings. Sunday, July 1st will run from 5:30 p.m. through 11 p.m. featuring guest speakers, film screenings, awards ceremonies and wrap party. Previous internet news postings offered the Sunday awards ceremony at $25 for the day, but direct sources at EFSFF say they have chosen not to charge for the awards ceremony, it will be included in the $15 entry fee.

Proceeds from admission and drink sales throughout the weekend’s socials will be donated to smiletrain.org, a respected group of medical professionals who offer life changing surgery to children with Cleft Lip and Palate. Repairing birth related defects and training doctors in 71 of the world’s poorest countries, Smile Train is quoted as saying ”One-hundred percent of the charities donations go directly to the cause.”

Schedule details and further information on the Emerging Film Makers Short Film Festival can be found online at www.EFSFF.org. The Sherry Theater is located at 11052 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood and details regarding the Smile Train Organization can be found at www.smiletrain.org. The EFSFF is proud to be a festival to inspire and to be inspired by the emerging next generation of independent film makers.
