V.B. Rosendahl's New Novel Nominated For Moonbeam Award
Bitter Tastes, a juvenile novel by V.B. Rosendahl of Virginia has been nominated for the prestigious Moonbeam Award.
[ClickPress, Sun Jun 24 2007] V.B. Rosendahl's novel 'Bitter Tastes' has been nominated for the Moonbeam Award, distributed by the Jenkins Group in Michigan.
Rosendahl's publisher Stargazer Press in Barrie, Ontario has nominated her for this award in one of the categories for children's fiction. The Moonbeam Award is only for children's works including picture books and graphic novels as well as novels.
Ms. Rosendahl's body of work includes another novel written under Toria Gaunt called 'Uneven Advantage'. 'Bitter Tastes' was recently published by Stargazer Press and is the first in the Martha and Kathy series.
In this novel, Martha and Kathy set out to solve the mystery of who hurt Janine. With so many suspects, it is amazing to the girls that they all wear the same ugly glasses. Setting off with their bicycles and professional snoop licenses, these two are on the hunt for a murderer.
Though the story does involve a fairly adult theme, many such works of fiction do so in this genre. What's great about Rosendahl's novel is that all of the gruesome parts have been completely eliminated but...look out for suspense. The novel completely engrosses both adult and child readers. It flows from the first page to the last.
Rosendahl has been gaining a fan base by visiting middle schools in Virginia, her home State. The author couldn't be more pleased that she has been nominated for such a prestigious award.
Stargazer Press is a seriously independent press in Barrie, Ontario. This small press now has three novels to its name, two in adult fiction and just the one juvenile novel 'Bitter Tastes'. What drew the company to this book is its style is very Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. It's innocent and reminiscent of simpler novels, long before the spate of novels in the juvenile horror section became a pressing demand.
"Any parent would be proud to have their child read this book," says Stargazer Press CEO Robyn W. "I'm a parent as well and I would have no hesitation in ordering a copy."
Stargazer Press encourages interested persons to come and have a look at their website www.stargazerpress.com/bittertastes.htm to view the book. As well, they invite readers to request this novel at bookstores and libraries in their cities. "Every bit of exposure in this industry helps."
