PRC’s West Mifflin center is honored by three separate organizations as a top employer for giving and community relations.
[ClickPress, Thu Jun 28 2007] PRC’s West Mifflin center will receive three major awards and recognitions for their dedicated work as a top employer giving back to the community.
According to Bob Macey, Allegheny County Councilman, “PRC is a benchmark for other employers to follow in this region. PRC prides itself on providing the best customer solution for its customers; this vision is also embraced by its employees in making a difference where you work.”

The Awards
• The Mon Valley Initiative (MVI) announced that PRC West Mifflin is recipient of this year’s 2007 employer of the year. The MVI recognized PRC’s commitment to the region and the exceptional attitude that the professional staff has contributed in volunteering their time with the workforce development team. PRC will be presented with their award at the Mon Valley Initiative 2007 Employer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday July 27th.
PRC’s worked closely with Workforce Development to create a “Dress for Success” campaign, which helps and educates job seekers on the basics of making a professional appearance, punctuality, and promoting a self image when going to the interview.
• PRC West Mifflin received the Governor’s Workforce Development Award for Western Pennsylvania at the recent 23rd Annual Pennsylvania Partners Employment, Training & Education Conference. Nominated by Reemployment Transition Center, PRC was among 14 employers that were lauded by Governor of Pennsylvania Edward G. Rendell for their participation in workforce development programs, and for providing job training and education services to enhance the commonwealth’s workforce.
• PRC’s West Mifflin center will receive the ‘James F. Compton Humanitarian Award’ at Life’sWork’s A White House Dinner in Pittsburgh on Friday, September 28th, 2007. The award was established in 1992 recognizes the efforts of a corporation in improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment through enhanced employment opportunities.
The PRC center was nominated by the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, a State Agency that provides services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, start, and maintain employment.
Life’sWork of Western Pennsylvania is a United Way affiliated non-profit organization whose mission is to continue its comprehensive and innovative role of assisting persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment to achieve independence and dignity through productive employment opportunities. Born in 1927, they have helped and provided opportunities for more than 83,000 individuals with disabilities or other employment barriers.
