The new process applies to all electronic terminals and networks of our digital economy.
[ClickPress, Tue Sep 20 2005] Apple Expo -- Paris, France -- The technology is being demoed for the first time at Apple Expo (Solution Center – Development & Innovation pavilion). Advantages of the innovation notably include :
•Assurance against risks of digital ID theft when using accessing telecommunications networks,
•Easy access of large scale user populations to multiple secured applications,
•Lowered management costs associated to digital identity life cycle management,
•Safe data recovery services of lost or stolen data, provided that they had been stored on a previously enrolled authentication device.
The advantages of the technological innovation can be measured in terms of cost, convenience and confidence factors.
•In terms of cost, the authentication process complies with legacy user terminals and commodity products such as iPod, PDA, GSM, USB memory or smart keys… and do not require additional security investment.
•In terms of convenience, the authentication process streamlines access to secured applications via the usage of users legacy terminals.
•In terms of confidence, finally, the technology enables its user to benenfit from several assurance levels against ID credentials theft and ID impersonation that could result from ID theft.
Platform independent, the technology is designed to be embedded in a resilient and pervasive manner inside usual communication devices such as iPODs, GSM phones, USB flash drives, MACs, PCs, etc. On the client side, the new authentication process does not change user process and relies on several identification factors which can include, for example, a PIN code, a serial number, a telephone number, a MAC address… On the server side, the system is designed to integrate itself in standard server environments.
The new process functionalities are numerous and allow the automation, in a transparent manner, to migrate from single-factor authentication to multi-factor authentication processes. De facto, the process improves the federation of multiple user digital identity credentials and creates, for each person, a unique, resilient, evolutionary and secure authentication number.
The technology innovation is supported by the usage of an algorithm which is patent-pending. Scientific and technical explanations are therefore not provided today. The technology innovation is currently being developed for different applications, notably when being managed inside Apple MAC O.S. X.

About Livo Technologies
Livo Technologies is the inventor of the Genonym™, an innovative digital identity technology that reinforces confidence, facilitates usage and lowers the costs of secured electronic communications.
The technology is based on the usage of an algorithm that computes and manages a unique authentication number, unique to each people. The authentication process supports multiple authentication factors (name, PIN, serial number, bio prints …) computed inside electronic terminals such as USB dongles, GSM phones, PDA, iPod, laptops… for personal and professional applications.
Created in 2003, the company is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. www.livo.com
Genonym is a registered trade mark of Livo Technologies SA.
