DirectRooms.com – Cairns Show Wine Awards Public Tasting To Be Held On 25 June 2011

DirectRooms.com is pleased to announce that 25th June marks the day for this year’s 2011 Cairns Show Wine Awards. Having been placed permanently on the calendar of the Australian Wine Industry, the event focuses on wine quality, wine style, and pairing wine with appropriate foods. Highly trained judges who have brought international credibility to this event present the awards.

[ClickPress, Tue Jun 07 2011] The intention of the Cairns Show Wine Awards is not just to award medals and trophies to those who produce exceptional wines; it is also to promote the local wine market by giving exposure to the wineries in the region. After the judging has been completed, the public is encouraged to attend the wine tasting afterwards. The public tasting is held at De Jarlais Function Centre on the Cairns Show Grounds from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on 25th June.

This public tasting opportunity provides wine connoisseurs and less experienced novices a once-a-year chance to sample some of the best wines from local Australian winemakers. These wines can be enjoyed with delightful samples of local foods. There are also free workshops throughout the day for those who would enjoy learning more about wine tasting, and the wine industry.

Tickets to the pubic wine tasting event are AUS$25 in advance and AUS$30 at the door. For large groups of 10 or more, tickets are AUS$20 each. There are a number of Cairns hotels available to suit all budgets.

The show is extending invitations, for free, to local food producers to showcase their foods by providing samples during the show.
