[ClickPress, Mon Jul 09 2007] An exhibition of new and recent paintings by artist Peter Chan opens tomorrow (July 10th) at The Artfinder’s Gallery in Liverpool. The artwork on show includes paintings of the human form and water based landscapes. The exhibition runs from July 10th until Sept 1st 2007.

Lydia Bates, The Artfinder, says “We’re very excited to be able to exhibit Peter Chan’s work, his paintings are vibrant and colourful but at the same time the blending of eastern and western influences lends them a Zen sense of calm”

“In these paintings I’ve been interested in space, movement and motion” says Hong Kong born Peter Chan “in the waterscapes in particular I’ve tried to capture the way that the fish move and live within their environment”

Peter Chan graduated from Liverpool JMU in 2002 and has gone on to exhibit in solo and group shows across the northwest. His work is held in private and corporate collections and he was commissioned by Unilever to produce paintings for the corporate environment in Port Sunlight.

The Artfinder’s Gallery is located in Queen Avenue, off Castle St in Liverpool city centre, and is open from Tuesday to Friday from 11- 6, and by appointment.
