Numberplates.com, the UK’s leading car registrations experts, have launched a series of in-car games based around UK car registrations. The games are available for free from the website, and can be used to pass the time on a long car journey, or just for fun!

Two of the most popular games based on number plates are Storyteller and Spotter. The aim of Storyteller is to jot down the letters as seen in a pre-defined number of car registrations in order to make a story. For example, if it is decided that two number plates will be used, and the next two number plates spotted are Y238 FAT and KG04 FCV, the letters (YFAT KGFCV) are jotted down. The players must then use words that begin with these letters (in the same order) to create a story. Using the examples just given, a permissible, although inelegant story could be “You Flew A Tall Kite, Going Far, Climbing Vertically.” The first person to create a story will win the round.

The aim of Spotter puts less demand on the referee and is one of the best ways to keep the kids occupied. The referee (a parent) gives the players three letters (or several sets of three letters) and the aim of the game is to spot a car registration containing all three of these letters. The first person to spot a suitable car registration wins the round.

The website’s inclusion of games revolving around car registrations is yet another innovative and unique feature of the site which has become the UK’s main source for all things number plate-related.
