Emerald Group Publishing Limited is pleased to announce two new acquisitions - the International Journal of Accounting and Information Management from Waverley Professional Services to add to its existing accounting and finance portfolio and the Journal of Systems and Information Technology from Edith Cowan University to complement its existing information and knowledge management titles.
[ClickPress, Tue Jul 17 2007] These acquisitions continue Emerald’s program of portfolio growth as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary of publishing excellence. Cathy Mostyn, Business Development Director at Emerald comments, “The news of further acquisitions reflects many months of work by our team to acquire high quality publications to add to our portfolio, to further strengthen our presence as the world's leading management journal publisher."
About the journals
International Journal of Accounting and Information Management
Formally Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Management – this journal is positioned at the forefront of scholarly research in areas embraced by the broad fields of accounting, information systems and information management, and of interest to academia and the professional alike.
Edited by Lee J. Yao of Loyola University, New Orleans, USA, the journal will continue to stimulate research in accounting and information systems, he comments, “For a journal that started more than 14 years ago, the 40 years of publishing experience behind Emerald would most certainly drive the International Journal of Accounting and Information Management’s further development to a new height. We hope that, by including IJAIM into the Emerald portfolio, we could set a new benchmark for researchers and practitioners in the wider accounting, finance, information system and information management communities. As the new editor of IJAIM, it is my honour and privilege, and I say it with confidence, to have this opportunity to work with the industry leader - Emerald - to serve our stakeholders and communities with admirable standards."
The journal will be published in print and will be made available online from 2008, with two issues in 2007, rising to four issues in future years.

Journal of Systems and Information Technology
The journal will provide an avenue for scholarly work that takes a systemic or holistic perspective in relation to areas such as information systems development, information technology, information systems management and electronic commerce. Edited by Dr Craig Standing, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia with Associate Editor Dr Ned Kock, Texas A&M International University in the USA, the journal will cover such subjects as IS/IT and e-commerce planning and innovative soft systems approaches used in information systems and e-commerce development.
Dr Standing comments, “When the Journal started in 1997 its aim was to publish high quality peer reviewed articles that took a broad systems perspective of information technology issues. Now with the support of Emerald which is one of the most innovative and proactive academic publishers, JSIT has the potential to reach a wider audience of researchers and practitioners in the information technology field. The marketing and administrative support provided by Emerald will mean that the articles published will by read by more people. The Journal has a bright future with two issues to be published in 2007 and then three issues per year starting in 2008.”
