Based in China’s capital Beijing, the dedicated business team will focus on building relationships with business schools, and facilitating the flow of research to and from the region.

Shariq Mumtaz, Emerald’s Vice President for China & India, said, “Our expanded business team in China reflects Emerald’s focus on regional markets and demonstrates our commitment to developing economies. Our editorial strategy supports and facilitates the flow of research to and from the region; we have recently launched Chinese Management Studies, a title which takes a unique and insightful approach to documenting and disseminating research into Chinese processes of managing enterprises, firms and corporations. 2008 will see further commitment to the region with the launch of the Journal of Chinese Economic and Foreign Trade Studies”.

Emerald’s team in China will be headed up by local business manager Mike Fang, and supported by a complement of marketing and customer services staff. The company is also active in neighbouring Taiwan where it has successfully run a series of training events for the 200 members of the Taiwanese CONCERT consortium.

Emerald’s expanded China team complements its dedicated business managers working with customers and contributors worldwide - including North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Australasia, Asia Africa and India.
