A real winter’s tale

The American Museum in Britain has announced that their festivity attraction will be Christmas Jewels this holiday season

[ClickPress, Tue Jul 24 2007] From November 24th to December 16th 2007, The American Museum in Britain near Bath, will be celebrating Christmas at Claverton. This celebration is annually, a tempting and magical sanctuary of calm and magic, so very distant from Christmas as we know it today. Each decorated period room will focus on some special, treasured gifts and families can discover why they were so valuable and precious to our early Americans. Sparkling, jewel like decorations and lustrous homemade trimmings will adorn the fifteen-foot Central Hall tree. The stairways and halls will catch the light radiating warm jewel-like rich colours throughout this elegant house. Children of all ages will be invited to find the Emerald Elves hiding throughout the museum and leave their Christmas wish list with the fairies. (Tickets £4-£7.50)

These celebrations will climax on Saturday 15th December 6.00-8.00pm with Claverton by Candlelight. (Advance bookings from 1st Aug 01225 823014, Tickets £7, £10 and £30 family ticket) 1000 candle lanterns will light up the museum and the surrounding grounds on this winter’s night. Families will be invited to explore the lavishly decorated rooms in the manor house, listen to live holiday music, snack on traditional stateside treats and have a visit from Ol’ Saint Nick. Finally the evening will climax with a spectacular firework display to herald in the festive season.
