[ClickPress, Wed Jul 25 2007] Proxibid, a premier provider of live auction broadcasting services, today announced that live online bidding will be available for The Myrtle Beach Auction slated for 1:00 pm EDT on Saturday, August 4 via the Proxibid Web site. The live auction, hosted by Auctioneer Ed Hagins, will take place at Waccamaw Pottery Complex, located on Hwy 501 at the Intercoastals Waterway in Myrtle Beach.

More than 100 limited works featuring a series of original artwork as well as lithographs, giclees and prints by American artists whose combined catalogs of work span the natural to the imaginative, subtle to extravagant. Works available in the auction include those of Robert Gonsalves, Christian Riese Lassen and John Pitre.

• Gonsalves has been greatly influenced by the works of legendary surrealists Salvador Dali and Yves Tanguy. Gonsalves’ work has been featured at the New York Art Expo and the Las Vegas Fine Art Forum. In 2003, Simon & Shuster published a collection of Gonsalves’ works titled “Imagine a Night,” which was so well received that a follow-up, “Imagine a Day” was released in 2005.

• Christian Riese Lassen is a top-selling artist whose works have been commissioned by the United Nations and the Walt Disney Co. He has authored several books, ranging from collections of his expansive catalog to children’s books, introducing young people to both the beauty of art and the fascinating creatures of the sea.

• Fantasy artist John Pitre is one of the most widely published artists in modern history. His work, “Restrictions,” featuring the powerful image of the mythical Pegasus tied to the ground as his rider looks skyward in hopes of soaring unrestrained to his hopes and dreams, sold more than seven million copies worldwide.

“This auction has something for everyone, whether your taste is abstract, contemporary, surrealist or even Disney illustrations,” said auctioneer Ed Hagins. “With online bidding, everyone who wants to participate in this auction can do so from the comfort of their home or office. We are looking forward to bringing this auction to a global audience.”
