Emerald Sees Strong Gains in Thomson Scientific Impact Factors
Growth realized in engineering, management, and library science fields
[ClickPress, Thu Jul 26 2007] Emerald Group Publishing Limited is pleased to announce strong growth in the impact factors of its journals across engineering, library & information science, and management titles. This according to the recently released Thomson Scientific 2006 Journal Citation Report. Impact factors are a benchmark of a journal's value and recognize how frequently peer-reviewed journals are cited by other researchers.
More than 72% of the ranked journals published by Emerald improved their performance in 2006. Emerald now has 36 unique titles ranked by Thomson, and of the 28 journal rankings published in June, 20 titles improved their scores from the previous year. Highlights from 2006 include:
· The best performing journal was the Journal of Documentation (JDoc) with an impact factor of 1.439, an increase of 46%.
· The highest increase in impact factor went to Assembly Automation (AA), at over 400%.
· Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials (ACMM) jumped from 0.153 in 2005 to 0.406, an increase of over 165%.
· The Journal of Organizational Change Management (JOCM) was the best performing management journal, increasing its impact factor by over 50%.
· 11 of 12 Emerald engineering titles registered an increase in their impact factors.
· 5 of 7 Emerald library and information science titles registered an increase in their impact factors.
