The event showcases an industry that is worth $230 million to the New Zealand economy, and as such it has found support from Auckland Tourism, which recognises it as one of four key Auckland events that will deliver significant returns for the city. In support of the Rugby World Cup, and widening its scope further, New Zealand Fashion Week will also be touring the country for six weeks, bringing together the interests of fashion and rugby fans.

The Fashion Weekend, which is open to the public, starts on the evening of Friday, 2nd September and continues all day Saturday, 3rd September. Entertainment includes catwalk shows, beauty experiences as well as musical entertainment. The weekend is also home to the Sunday Star Times Designer Garage Sale, a very popular addition to the programme.

Ticket prices range from $20 for one day, to $30 for the whole weekend, with early bird tickets being available until 18th July. Additionally, there will be Designer Selection Shows taking place throughout Fashion Week, presenting selected pieces from favourite New Zealand Fashion Week designers.

Those who are looking for a good value Auckland hotel for Fashion Week will find a plethora of options available close to the Fashion Week venue to suit all budgets, tastes and requirements.
