Mother and Daughter forge a formidable team

“My mom is pretty convincing which is why she is so successful, “stated Miley Waterman. “I like to tell people she wore me down, but the reality is this is the best business decision I have ever made. We’re pieces of the puzzle. We’ve never had a cross word with each other and our skills are so complimentary.”

Linda Casso is quick to add, “Miley has helped Tuned in Media soar to new heights. “She balances me out like no other business partner could”

Tuned in Media holds a prominent seat on the board of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners). Linda Casso and Miley Waterman are quick to point out that their involvement with the Orange County chapter of this organization is extremely rewarding. “The experience and education we’ve received from serving on the board has far surpassed our expectations,” adds Waterman.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Waterman has immediately set out to leave her mark as well.

In conjunction with some friends, Miley created a community event designed to send care packages to members of the armed services who are over seas. Waterman and friends enlisted the support of the Long Beach fire department, representatives from Friends of Long Beach Animals, the Substance Abuse Foundation, and many ministries from Parkcrest Christian Church. The event was complete with a live band, bounce house, face painting, free hot dogs and sodas, and booths where individuals could seek prayer and information on recovery programs. The kids that attended had their own craft area where they could make thank you cards for the soldiers that were included in the care packages.

“I am happy to say that the final batch of care packages was shipped off to Iraq last week. We're really looking forward to holding more of these types of events that not only support a good cause but connect the Long Beach community members as well,” says Waterman.
