The first edition of Britain's only continuously produced boating TV show hits the mark
[ClickPress, Mon Aug 06 2007] UK Boating, a brand-new and highly specialist programme from niche leisure producer Serious Leisure TV, seems to be right on target, according to producer Chris Gosling.
"After three showings, we counted 85 emails from viewers - a surprising total when viewers very rarely contact TV shows producers directly," he said.
"Our first programme was an amalgam of items to see how it was received," he continued. "But the second programme, now in production and due to premiere on the 15th August, will be a much stronger mix of more up-to-date material."
Serious Leisure also produces the very successful Caravan Channel series, and is working with broadcaster Information TV to develop a growing leisure strand in their schedule. The Caravan Channel now airs at 6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with a 12.30pm showing on Sundays, and UK boating follows immediately after. Both shows are produced on a fortnightly continuous production basis basis - the next pair of new shows are premiered on Wednesday, 5th August.
Information TV broadcasts on Sky channel 167, with a simulcast on broadband from www.information.tv, and the UK Boating website shows clips from broadcast shows online at www.uk-boating.tv
"Our programmes involve our viewers and are inclusive, rather than exclusive," Gosling added, "we constantly interact with viewers online, and actually respond to them individually, instead of sending out automated replies!"
