Fujitsu Services is planning for further business growth and acquisitions in Europe within the IT services and solutions market.
[ClickPress, Fri Aug 31 2007] Fujitsu Services, a pan-European provider of IT solutions, will continue to look for growth opportunities in Europe following the acquisition of a majority stake in German IT services provider TDS.
Earlier this month Fujitsu Services was unsuccessful in its tender offer for French IT services group GFI as less than Fujitsu’s minimum of 66.67% of the shares had been tendered into the offer. However, the company bounced back to secure a landmark 10-year deal with Reuters to transform the IT infrastructure for all of its 17,500 global employees.
David Courtley, CEO of Fujitsu Services, stated, "Our strategy continues to be based on both organic growth and acquisition in the principal European markets. The recent success in winning significant contracts including Allianz...demonstrates early evidence of the success of this strategy."
Fujitsu’s growing success in Europe can be seen in its record business results from 2006/07. The IT services company posted a surge in profits with pre-tax profits jumping to £172m and total equity increasing by 83% to £287.5m. Fujitsu is now working on bringing its expertise in individual markets together with the creation of a single pan-European point of contact.
Fujitsu Services, with its headquarters in London, provides comprehensive business IT solutions to a range of customers across Europe, including retail, financial services, healthcare and government. The company designs, builds and operates IT systems and IT services for large scale clients in both the public and private sectors. Key services include IT service management, especially desktop managed services, IT consulting and IT outsourcing.
