Webtogs, the camping equipment and outdoor clothing e-tailer, has announced that it will allow customers to pay using both Paypal and Google Checkout when it's forthcoming site is launched shortly. According to Webtogs CEO James Balmain, this choice was made because of the importance of offering customers choice and flexibility in the retail process.
[ClickPress, Wed Sep 12 2007] Webtogs, the camping equipment and outdoor clothing e-tailer, has announced that it will allow customers to pay using both Paypal and Google Checkout on its forthcoming website at www.webtogs.co.uk.
James Balmain, Webtogs CEO, explained the logic:
"It's a fundamental principle of traditional retailing that you give customers as much flexibility in paying as possible, that way you make more sales. This principle seems to have been largely forgotten by many online retailers, who largely ignore popular alternative payment methods. Given the popularity and security of online payment systems such as Paypal and Google Checkout, it seems like many websites are missing a trick.
"The decision to offer Webtogs customers a choice of payment options, including debit and credit cards, is part of our strategy to develop a best-of-breed e-commerce website, which incorporates all the lessons from the past decade of selling goods online."
