[ClickPress, Thu Sep 13 2007] Chemique Adhesives and Sealants Ltd, pioneers in the development of solvent free polyurethane adhesives have just launched their new range of Honeycomb panel adhesives.

Due to the latest advances in technology, strength, safety, reliability and efficiency within transport, building and other composite industries, new fabricated materials such as the honeycomb sandwich panel have been introduced to withstand these demands.

The new honeycomb panels consist of a skin made from a wide range of substrates such as metals, plastics and woods and have an internal lightweight honeycomb shaped aluminium or thermoplastic core, resembling that of a beehive.

Dedicated to the ongoing development of innovative adhesive systems Chemique produced Solfre2 Honeycomb Panel Adhesive, specifically formulated for the manufacture of honeycomb panels and composite products. This allows composite panel manufacture with honeycomb core, without compromising the bond strength of the adhesive on a limited contact area.

Following from the success of Solfre2 Honeycomb, Chemique are proud to launch Solfre2 Honeycomb Clear. The new formulation is an exciting, unique transparent adhesive that is ideal for bonding glass, clear acrylic or polycarbonate sheets.

Completely solvent free, the new adhesive spreads upwards and will not discolour even with long-term exposure to ultra violet light, making it the perfect solution for architects incorporating decorative partition panels and windows into their design. It also works perfectly for marine composite panels, furniture and doors.

“Our honeycomb adhesives have been created through the latest in advanced technology and applied with rheology which enables the adhesive to crawl up the honeycomb mechanism, increasing the bonding area on the honeycomb” said John Bellerby, Chemique Technical Manager “The clear formulation is one of a kind in the industry and the ideal solution for architects wanting to achieve stunning aesthetic design through glass and partitioning”
