SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - October 20, 2005 - Revinetix, a pioneer in Disk2Disk2Disk™ backup solutions, today announced that its Sentio and Volo backup and recovery appliances will soon be upgraded with onboard Network Attached Storage (NAS) support. Targeting the needs of small and medium businesses, the new built-in NAS feature will allow IT administrators to partition drive space on Volo and Sentio devices, making RAID-protected file sharing available to Windows and Linux clients.

"Integrated NAS support will enable SMBs to quickly and easily add file storage capacity to their technology infrastructure, while maximizing use of available disk storage on Revinetix Volo and Sentio backup appliances," said Revinetix VP of Sales Brian Clark. "Data within the NAS partition can be backed up and off-sited for a true disaster recovery solution, giving users the ability to centralize their storage needs."

The NAS upgrade is planned for release within 60 days and will be included with all Sentio and Volo products as part of Revinetix’ preloaded RevOS software. Current backup appliance models offer 500GB to 4 TBs of raw (uncompressed) disk drive capacity and support heterogeneous network environments. The new NAS function will give IT administrators the ability to partition a percentage of the storage capacity and assign disk quotes for any number of individual users on the local area network (LAN).

All Revinetix backup and recovery appliances are disk-based to ensure reliability and are available in a desktop format (Volo) or 1U, 2U, 3U or 4U rack-mount chassis (Sentio) with high speed Intel Xeon processors, Gigabit and Fast Ethernet controllers, and dual load-sharing redundant power supplies. The Sentio line also integrates a hardware RAID card and offers up to 16 hot-swappable serial ATA drives for unlimited off-site storage and greater reliability and speed compared to traditional tape backup systems.
