Three new customers launch iPLATO Patient Care Messaging

As Toby Gockel of iPLATO explains, "We start small with a few innovative clinics within a Trust to validate the concept and familiarise administrators and service managers with the technology. Once the service has proven successful within the predefined area we aim to extend it to all patients throughout the Trusts. The new Trusts have a combined population of more than 2 million patients so this is a huge opportunity for delivering process savings and improved patient care".

Michael Doyle, Business & Support Services Manager of the West London Mental Health Trust comments that "West London Mental Health Trust is keen to embrace new technological developments to support increased efficiency. This partnership arrangement with iPLATO to reduce DNAs in Community Mental Health Teams (due to go live in April 2005) is a further example of this, through partnership working with the independent sector". The third new site for Patient Care Messaging is the Red House Practice in Hertsmere PCT.

Reception of Patient Care Messaging has been positive with several patients complimenting the practices for this convenient service and, spontaneously, calling in to register their mobile phone numbers to receive reminders.
