MEP CALLS ON ‘PITIFULLY USELESS’ PARLIAMENT TO REJECT EU BUDGET
In a speech to the European Parliament on Wednesday 26th October, the Eastern Counties UKIP MEP, Jeffrey Titford has called on the Parliament to reject the 2006 Budget. Mr Titford reminded members that the European Court of Auditors had “for good reason refused to sign off the EU’s accounts for the past ten years”.
[ClickPress, Wed Oct 26 2005] Mr Titford added: “Each and every year, this House has just shrugged its shoulders, sighed and looked the other way, which is a shameful indictment of this institution and demonstrates how pitifully useless it really is”.
He went on to call for all members of the Parliament to “in good conscience” reject the 2006 budget on the grounds that they shouldn’t be debating new expenditure until they have “sorted out the mess that has been left behind in previous years”.
