Buying your Christmas presents online could bring big savings, says which.co.uk

[ClickPress, Wed Oct 31 2007] which.co.uk (http://www.which.co.uk) has trawled the internet looking for the best deals on popular Christmas presents, to reveal the savings that can be made by buying online.

The consumer organisation visited 11 retailers and collected prices on 72 different products to calculate typical online savings – taking into account delivery costs. It found that online shoppers can save over £1,000 on a shopping list of five popular items, and there are potential savings of up to 29 per cent on TVs and 23 per cent on micro hi-fis.

Over two thirds (69 per cent) of those surveyed by which.co.uk (http://www.which.co.uk) who plan to shop via the internet this Christmas said the reason is to avoid crowds. The same number (69 per cent) also said it is easier to compare prices between retailers.
