Retailers Grateful at Opportune Arrival of Organic Products

Organic & Natural Enterprises, aka ONE Group, appears to have set the bar higher than any other company would dare to dream when it comes to producing natural and organic products. Their definition for organic is, "Grown, cultivated and stored without the use of chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, fumigants or toxins."

[ClickPress, Thu Oct 27 2005] There was a time, before the Industrial Revolution, when organic wasn't a rare commodity, it was simply the norm. Modern man however, seems to be living in a new era, an era full of toxic, synthetic chemicals.

We currently live in a world where everything is available to us from nature, but is ignored. It seems it isn't as much fun to use what earth naturally provides us as it is to recreate it in a laboratory and slap a patent on it.
Since corporations can't patent earth's bounty (not for lack of trying) her sources of health and nutrition have taken the back seat to: refined, reprocessed, remodified, rehydrated, reconstituted, rehomogenized, etc...

Unfortunately, today's consumers are used to seeing synthetic ingredients on the backs of their products.

Inorganic has now has become the norm.

When a shopper sees an ingredient on the front of a package that indicates a natural ingredient, they purchase it without the realization that the ingredient listed on the front of the product, that was so prominently displayed, is more times than not, the last ingredient listed on the back - indicating it is the least comprising ingredient.

Consumers and retailers alike have been deceived for decades with the terminology natural and organic.

It is a fact that any product can be branded as organic just for containing carbon, an element found in all organic life. Just the same, any product can be branded as natural just for containing a trace amount of extract from something natural, such as a plant. The chances of that plant being organic are slim to none. After all, what good would it do to place an organic extract into a toxic chemical soup?

But that is changing.

Last month The U.S. Senate reversed its decision to yank the USDA certification logo off legitimately organic non-food products. And though a lawsuit had to be filed in order to achieve that victory, it was a victory nonetheless.
Why was this an important piece of legislation? Because while natural and organic claims are glossing almost every personal product on the market, there are some respectable companies out there that painstakingly and thoughtfully produce products to organic food standards.

The only way to differentiate the real from the fake is to look for the certified logo.

There is currently only one company on the planet to carry several logos of certification and that is Organic & Natural Enterprises Pty Ltd, aka ONE Group.

In fact, ONE Group is the first and only company to carry third party, food standard, organic certifications from two countries on their line of organic personal products.

Finally, a company that gets it.

Through September 2005, this Australian based company had solely marketed it's certified organic products through their highly diverse and successful multi-channel enterprise in conjunction with internet retailing in the U.S. and Canada. However, as of October 1st, they are now looking to capture the retail market as well.

A smart move.

Purchasing organic is not a fad. According to experts in world trends, organic and natural beauty products are in the high demand. Currently the market is exceeding $52 billion annually and continuing to grow at a steady rate of around 20%.

Consumer sales of organic products in the US reached $5.6 billion in 2000, a rise of 19% from 1999. If this annual growth is sustained (and there is no indication it will not as sales in 2001 reached US$9.4 billion) the organic segment will be worth between US$13 - US$18 billion in 2005.

Based on studies conducted by representatives of the company, the markets in the U.S. and Canada are grateful for the opportunity to be able to carry authentic certified products to their customers at last.

The first companies lining up to retail ONE Group's certified organic personal products are spas and natural health stores.

"We are facing a couple challenges but we have been well received in the retail community," states an independent representative of ONE Group in the U.S. "When a retail customer learns that their minimum wholesale discount is 40% and they can control the inventory through purchasing products directly from the internet with free shipping, they see that it is not only a familiar process but an enjoyable one."

When the independent representative was asked if she thought the retail aspect of the business would hurt her personal ONE Group business plan, she said, "Absolutely not. Our mission is not simply to sell products, it is to educate people to the important role organic products play in our personal health and the sustainable future of our planet. As long as there are skin and health products out there with poisonous ingredients and people purchasing them, I will be out there working to educate them."

As ONE Group continues to grow its enterprise throughout the world, marketing environmentally friendly organic products, it is also invariably educating the public through a grassroots movement to the importance of organics in our lives and the lives of our planet.

If only more companies operated that way.
