[ClickPress, Thu Nov 08 2007] Uniform Dating, in liaison with the Royal British Legion, is getting behind this year's Poppy Appeal by contributing £1.50 every time the code POPPY is used on the Uniform Dating site. - hoping to contribute a sizeable donation to the appeal.
Run by ex-military personnel, UniformDating.com always supports the poppy appeal. It is the largest uniformed services dating community in the UK with over 100,000 members. Geoff Hyams, MD of the site says, “ Many of the staff here are ex military and we are only too aware of the importance of the annual poppy appeal. We are incredibly proud of our veterans and also of the much younger Forces personnel returning from conflict that the Legion supports in so many ways”.
Aran Lackey, site manager adds, “It's nice to see the troops all over the world logging in using the Internet access provided by the MoD. It is really good for their morale to feel that people back home are supporting them. Many of them form firm friendships for when they return from their tours.
Wanting to contribute on some scale, the team liaised with the Legion fundraisers and came up with the idea that the site would donate the same amount of money as is donated by the Poppy Text appeal while allowing people to enjoy the website and meet members of the armed services.
Frances Hoy, Head of PR for the Royal British Legion said, “We are thrilled to get this sort of support. It is great that something fun can also contribute so significantly to our fund-raising efforts”.
To prompt the donation of £1.50 to the Poppy Appeal, readers simply have to visit www.uniformdating.com and use the code POPPY in the upgrade area.
