Social media for asylum seekers and migrants launched

Looking for a platform to voice out your concerns or practice writing skills and connect with old or new friends from the asylum seeker and migrant community? A new social media website dedicated to migrants in USA, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa has launched.

[ClickPress, Thu Dec 20 2007] Asylum and Immigration News has announced the debut of a premier interactive social media website " Asylumnews.org (http://www.asylumnews.org)" that allows asylum seekers and migrants to meet, discuss issues, access to advice organisations and post their content for sharing.

Members can write and submit articles submitted as News Stories which will be professional edited and promoted on the home pages either as Top News or Recent News. They can create own blogs that can be tagged, commented on, subscribed to, start a group, forum discussion where users can discuss a variety of challenges.

Asylum & Immigration News' members can also invite others and add them to a buddylist, rate them and write a review, send private messages and post for any missing person that seem to have been displaced by disasters.
The site content consists of grassroots video, audio, photographs, ebooks, whitepapers, reports and more.

"The Asylumnews.org social media platform provides a compelling mechanism for connecting a geographically dispersed asylum seeker and migrant communities. We believe in the idea of targeted social networks where users can interact with others who truly share common interests and experiences, not simply being part of an online community," said founder and Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Chibka.

Asylum & Immigration News currently will rely of Google Adsense as the only source of revenue.
