Financial Services Discussion Club announces 2008 meeting schedule
[ClickPress, Wed Jan 02 2008] The Financial Services Discussion Club (FSDC) has announced its 2008 meeting schedule. Discussion topics, put forward by members, reflect the most pressing issues faced by financial services firms in 2008.
FSDC special interest groups meet monthly across the UK and offer members the chance to benchmark against other firms and exchange ideas on topical issues. Meetings are run under the Chatham House rule to encourage an open debate.
Areas of discussion for 2008 include:
• Treating Customers Fairly
• Distribution: working with third parties
• Working with principles
• Payment Protection Insurance
• Financial Crime
• Management Information
• UCITS 3
• Complaints Handling
• Financial Promotions
• Operational Risk
• MiFID
Speaking on behalf of the FSDC, Naomi King said,
"These topics represent the most pressing issues affecting firms today. Changes to regulations and market conditions will continue to affect financial services firms in 2008 and the opportunity to exchange ideas and benchmark with peers will remain a priority."
During 2008, the FSDC will be launching new discussion groups covering a variety of topic areas.
