Empty homes campaign may bring prices down say National Homebuyers

There may be a surge in people seeking a fast property sale as Halifax campaigns for the government to help put more properties on the market.

[ClickPress, Tue Jan 15 2008] The firm wants action to be taken over the number of empty homes in the UK, calling for tax breaks to be given to those who snap up vacant properties.

An influx of homes onto the market would be detrimental to home-sellers as it would mean more available properties, therefore reducing demand.

This may bring house prices down and at a time when Nationwide has reported that the average price fell by 0.5 per cent in December, that is the last thing home-sellers need.

However, Halifax's campaign has received support from the public, with two-thirds of those questioned saying that they support the firm's campaign to see more empty homes being put on the market.

With this in mind, many people may seek a fast property sale before any action is taken and prices potentially suffer as a result. Quick property sale leaders National Homebuyers say there are many facets to falling prices in the UK.

Director Julian King says, "The introduction of Hips, credit concerns across the board, fewer buyers and a lack of confidence in the market is all conspiring to pull your house price down.

"Homeowners worried about the falling value of their home could consider a quick property sale. Those facing financial difficulty are encourage to act quickly to avoid repossession".

Mr King is a Director of National Homebuyers, the UK's leading fast property sale firm that guarantees to make a cash offer to purchase each property quickly, regardless of its condition or location. The company is a leading provider of Mortgage Rescue Schemes such as Sell and Rent Back when the homeowner can sell their property for cash, but remain in their home as a tenant.
