TV chef forced to slash asking price reports National Homebuyers
Administrators in charge of recouping the debt owed by TV chef John Burton Race are seeking a fast property sale.
[ClickPress, Wed Feb 27 2008] It comes as the housing market stutters, meaning few people have expressed an interest in purchasing the chef's Dorset guesthouse.
After initially putting the large property on the market for £750,000, the administrators have been forced to slash the price to just £695,000.
The firm said that it is trying to secure a "quick sale" and blamed poor sentiment in the housing market for the lack of interest.
The three-storey guesthouse has been completely renovated and comes with six en-suite bedrooms, a residents' lounge and other mod-cons.
However, it failed to sell after three weeks on the market and administrators are keen to make a fast property sale to recoup some of the £1 million that Mr Burton Race owes.
"We have cut the price in the hope to make a quick sale," Michael Easton, from Christie and Co.
Julian King of fast property purchasers National Homebuyers says "We are pleased that a celebrity helps to increase awareness of the problems of acheiving a good price for homes in a falling market.
"National Homebuyers are pleased to make a formal offer on Mr Burton-Race's property to release equity within days".
National Homebuyers are the UK's largest quick property purchase firm, guaranteeing to make an offer on any property in the UK for vendors who need a quick sale.
