Dr. Laura Schlessinger Creates One-of-a-Kind Jewelry for Charity

Top-rated syndicated radio host and best-selling author, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, will kick off an online "boutique" featuring her personally designed and handcrafted jewelry at noon on Monday, December 5th, through her web site (www.drlaura.com). All of the proceeds benefit Operation Family Fund, located in Ridgecrest, California, which provides financial assistance to families of military and civilian personnel who have died or have been severely disabled as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Laura has done this for more than five years. Her son, Deryk, has enlisted in the US Army and Dr. Laura considers herself best known as the "proud mother of an American soldier."

Typically, the holiday boutique raises at least $30,000. The pieces range in price from $500 to $2,000 and even when the online boutiques are not in session, commissioned necklaces, complete with a personal phone-call greeting/design consultation are available through her Web site, www.drlaura.com.

In January, Harper-Collins will release her ninth book, Bad Childhood - Good Life and she is working on Ten MORE Stupid Things Women Do To Mess Up Their Lives.
