National Homebuyers: 'Uninsured count the cost of the quake'
Many UK homeowners may find themselves in financial difficulties as a result of the earthquake which hit the UK last week.
[ClickPress, Wed Mar 19 2008] Sainsbury's Bank estimates that around 3,250 home insurance claims will be made as a result of the tremor, which measured 5.2 on the Richter Scale.
The bank believes that the total damage bill will run into tens of millions of pounds.
However, concern has been raised that many people will face financial difficulties because, according to its research, one in 20 households does not have buildings insurance.
"The recent earthquake just shows that you can never tell when exceptional circumstances may occur and you might need to make a claim," said Neil Laird, Sainsbury's Home Insurance Manager.
"Unlimited buildings cover ensures peace of mind that you won't be left underinsured should the unthinkable happen," he continued.
Fast property sale expert Julian King adds, "People facing financial difficulty should consider a quick property sale.
"National Homebuyers purchases properties across the UK for vendors who need a quick sale, regardless of the condition or location of the property".
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Lincolnshire but the tremors were felt throughout the UK.
