Flowcrete Group Appoints New Global Marketing Manager

Global flooring manufacturer Flowcrete Group plc has selected an influential figure in the flooring industry to develop its worldwide marketing function.

[ClickPress, Thu Mar 20 2008] Ian Dawson has been appointed Flowcrete Group’s Global Marketing Manager, with responsibility for the company’s 30 offices and 12 manufacturing plants across the world.

He has been promoted his previous position within Flowcrete as International Business Development Manager.

Based at the company’s Malaysia office - the hub of operations for Flowcrete’s Far and Middle East markets - Ian’s strategic approach will set the blueprint for the company’s entire global operations, influencing PR, online, direct marketing, promotional material and advertising activities.

The father-of-three, who originates from the Derbyshire Peak District and has a UK base in Sheffield, will be focusing on sustainability and spearheading overall global growth.

Ian brings a genuine global perspective to the role, with an extensive track record in international business development, including the successful start-up of Flowcrete’s operations in the Middle East.

His career has also involved significant input into the company’s development in Africa, India, the Far East and Asia and he has been based outside the UK since 1999.

Ian said: “By creating a unified, global brand I intend to build on the good works already in place and take the company up to the next step as a world leader in the industrial and commercial flooring marketplace.

“Having been in the flooring industry for more than 15 years, it is great to be in a position to make a real difference. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”

Ian takes over the role for global marketing from Flowcrete chairman and former Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year, Dawn Gibbins MBE, who intends to focus her activities within the UK from Flowcrete’s Cheshire headquarters.
