£100,000 Raised by Plumbworld for The Heart of England Forest Project

Plumbworld has always been environmentally conscious; from the way they complete business processes such as recycling to raising money for local environmental initiatives. The online retailer of bathrooms has recently reached a huge milestone in raising money for the project which they are keen to announce.

Over the past 18 months, Plumbworld have raised over £100,000 to donate to the Heart of England Forest Project which will directly benefit the country and environment. The whole project is based around one initiative and statement; "To plant and preserve a large native forest in the heart of England".

However, despite this being the initiative of the project, there are several objectives that they wish to complete by undertaking this mammoth task:

1)Creating an environment that both wildlife and humans can benefit from.
2)Make the majority of the forest open to the public and only reserve specific areas with endangered species or scientific value.
3)Incorporating lots of winding paths, ponds, wetlands and glades to ensure the forest is as natural as possible and full of light and air.

All of these objectives are primary goals; however, a by-product of this tree planting plan is that it offsets carbon footprints through absorbing more carbon dioxide. This is becoming quite a large scale operation with many companies looking to offset the carbon footprint by donating money to have trees planted in their name.

In this day and age where everyone is trying to raise awareness and combat global warming, it’s great to see a large company such as Plumbworld taking a stand and really helping out the cause. There are many businesses throughout the world that have no concern for the future of the planet and only care about NOW, but this is an unrealistic approach to take. Plumbworld, along with the others who are supporting this cause should be commended for their donation to bettering the environment and the planet.

Plumbworld.co.uk is hosted on the large Online Home Retail network at present. The network currently hosts 50 niche-specific websites which sell a whole range of products, varying from the green heating of Woodburnerworld, to the outdoor festivities of BBQBarbecues. Online Home Retail Limited was originally Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a brand overhaul in June 2012. The business now employs close to 60 people in its purpose built warehouse and offices whilst turning over in excess of £20 million per year.
