More than 14.6 million cosmetic treatments were requested in 2012, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Botox
Fine lines around the eyes (crow's feet), mouth (smile lines) and nose are caused by repetitive facial muscle contractions. Botox injections help to smooth these lines by weakening the muscles that cause them. The results from these injections take a day or two to reach their full potential and last approximately four months.

Dermal Fillers
Juvederm, Restylane and Radiesse are a few of the different formulas of filler that can be used to plump fine lines and wrinkles, augment lips and cheeks and reduce the hollow, tear troughs beneath the eyes. Results can last up to two years depending on the type of filler used and the area injected.

Microdermabrasion
This procedure uses a machine that blasts fine crystals onto the surface of the skin to remove its topmost layer. Biweekly treatments may help to minimize acne scarring, melasma and sun damage.
